Using smaller needles, CO 52 (56, 62, 66) sts. Begin St st; work even for 11/2", end with a WS row. Plain (St st)
Back only: Knit 1 row, inc 2 sts evenly across—54 (58, 64, 68) sts; place a marker (pm) each side for lower edge. Change to larger needles and continue in St st. Patterned Back only: Knit 1 row, inc 6 sts evenly across—58 (62, 68, 72) sts; place a marker (pm) each side for lower edge. (WS) Change to larger needles and set-up pattern; work 13 (15, 16, 18) sts in St st, pm; beg Row 1 of patterns, work Cable across next 6 sts, pm; work Blackberry st across center 20 (20, 24, 24) sts, pm; work Cable across next 6 sts, pm, work in St st to end.
Both: Work even as est until piece measures 11 1/2 (13 1/2, 14 1/2, 16)" from lower edge markers.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: BO 14 (16, 17, 19) sts beg next 2 rows for shoulders; place rem sts on holder for neck—26 (26, 30, 30) for plain Back; 30 (30, 34, 34) for patterned Back.

FRONT
Work as Patterned Back until piece measures 9 1/2 (11 1/2, 12, 13 1/2)", end with a WS row; pm each side of center
20 (20, 24, 24) sts for neck.
Shape Neck: Work across to first marker; place center sts on holder for; join a second ball of yarn, work to end. Working both side at same time, at each neck edge, dec 1 st every row 2 times, every other row 3 times—14 (16, 17, 19) sts remain for shoulders. Work even until piece measures same as Back to shoulders, end with a WS row. BO all sts at beg of next 2 rows.

SLEEVES
Using smaller needles, CO 28 (30, 32, 32) sts. Begin St st; work even for 11/2", then inc 2 (4, 4, 6) sts evenly across last (RS) row—30 (34, 36, 38) sts; pm each side for lower edge. Change to larger needles and set-up pattern; work 12 (14, 15, 16) sts in St st, pm; beg row 1 of cable pattern, work Cable across center 6 sts, pm; work to end in St st. Work even as est for 4 rows, end with a WS row.
Shape Sleeve: Beginning this row, inc 1 st each side every 5 (5, 6, 6) rows 8 (8, 9, 10) times—46 (50, 54, 58) sts. Work even until piece measures 8 (10, 11, 12)" from lower edge marker. BO all sts loosely.

FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements, if necessary, being careful not to flatten texture. Sew shoulder seams. Measure
down 5 (51/2, 6, 61/4" from shoulder seam, Back and Front and pm for underarm. Pm at center of each sleeve; sew sleeves between markers on Front and Back, centering sleeves. Sew Sleeve and side seams, reversing seam at lower edges and allowing it to roll naturally to RS.
Neck Edging: With RS of facing, using circular needle, beginning at right shoulder, pick up and knit 70 (70, 78, 78) sts around neck shaping, including sts from holders, and AT THE SAME TIME, if plain (St st) Back was worked, inc 4 sts evenly across sts on Back neck holder; join, pm for beg of round. Work even in St st until piece measures 11/2" from pick-up row. BO all sts loosely.
